About Theresa

Theresa was born in Hong Kong and moved to Australia over 35 years ago. She left behind her home, friends, and a career in social work. The big move was not easy, but it inspired her to help other older immigrants in Australia.

Today, Theresa is the CEO of Chung Wah CAC. She works with aged care providers and community groups to support people from different cultures and language backgrounds. Her goal is to help them age with dignity and a positive outlook.

Theresa helps care for around 800 clients. Many of them speak little or no English because they moved to Australia later in life. She speaks up about the challenges and strengths of older immigrants in Australia, so that others can better understand and support them.
