Go along to your local aquatics centre for fun and fitness. There are indoor and outdoor pools and a full range of fitness facilities and programs. Work on your strength and aerobic fitness with lap swimming in the 50-metre outdoor pool in the warmer months. Bring the grandkids along to the splash park, or simply stretch and relax in the hydrotherapy pool. Try deep water running or aqua arthritic classes. It's a gentle workout in the water that's ideal for older people. Or you can try body balance, Pilates, or calming yoga classes for improved strength and flexibility.
