Join the local Connect Group at Ashburton Community Centre to meet like-minded people. It is a volunteer-run group helping people with similar interests to connect with each other. You could try your skills at a game of mah-jong and sharpen your mind with this game of strategy. Learn the rules and expand your hand as you play with an enthusiastic group of players. Older adults enjoy playing mah-jong because the game requires attention control and alertness. It improves your short-term memory, attention and logical thinking. It’s open to all levels and if you are a beginner, mah-jong lessons are also available throughout the year.
