If you would like to get involved and give back to your community, join a group of over 450 volunteers at the council. You will play an important role in helping the council deliver programs and services throughout your city. As a volunteer, you can help in libraries in reading groups or as a tutor. You can help to maintain parks and the environment. Or you can visit older residents in their homes or aged care. You might pop in for a cuppa and a chat or go for a walk and help in the garden. You’ll be brightening their day and helping them to feel less lonely or isolated. You’ll connect to and better understand your community. You can gain new skills and knowledge and enjoy a sense of achievement. Volunteering keeps you active and helps you to meet new people.
