Blacktown Meals on Wheels brings food and company to the homes of older people and those with limited mobility. It’s also a way for people who don’t often get a chance to socialise, to enjoy a chat and some attention. You can help to keep people happy and independent in their own homes. You can volunteer as a driver to deliver food to someone’s home or a group social event. But it’s ‘more than just a meal’ and more about meaningful friendship. If you don’t have a vehicle or license but are still interested in helping, there are other roles that could be perfect. You could join your local committee or help with office duties. You will make a meaningful difference and meet lots of people. It's a great way to stay connected to the community, stay active and make friends.
