If you’re interested in the rich history of the region, become a society member and volunteer to help run the museum. There are so many ways you can contribute to a wide range of volunteer roles. If you love people, you can work as a museum guide, at exhibitions, or events. If you prefer to work behind the scenes, you can help with cataloguing, research, conservation, or scanning. Or you could work outside, maintaining the building or grounds. There’s advertising, marketing, and website work or you can write the newsletter and fundraise. Volunteering is immensely rewarding, and you’ll enjoy giving back to your community. You’ll stay active and involved and meet plenty of like-minded people.
