If you have some spare time, bring your life skills, experience, empathy, and compassion to volunteer at your local children’s hospital. You’ll brighten the day of people who may be going through a difficult time.

There are many volunteer roles you can try such as meet, greet, and guide visitors through the hospital and health services. You could visit and comfort patients, help with small tasks and errands, and support patients arriving for clinic appointments.

You can help to entertain the kids, be a cuddle carer, or read to kids in the book bunker. Or you can work behind the scenes and help hospital staff with ward activities and work in the offices.

It’s a wonderful way to give back to your community and stay active. You’ll feel a sense of reward helping people and you’ll meet plenty of like-minded people while you work.
