City of South Perth Libraries Volunteering

If you love reading, and enjoy books and the English language, volunteer at your local library.

You can help the Home Reader Service deliver books and other library items to housebound residents to brighten their day. Or you can volunteer as a Library Shelver to assist staff and customers by returning library items to the shelves from sorting trolleys.

You could assist the English as a Second Language conversation group. You'll be helping people to practise English to make their lives easier in Australia. These conversation groups run on Wednesdays and Saturdays at Manning Library and Fridays at South Perth Library.

You can also work as an Old Mill guide or work with children and families in the Time for Play session, and more.

Volunteering is a great way to stay active and involved in your community. You’ll enjoy giving back and gain a sense of reward and purpose. It’s also a wonderful opportunity to learn new things and meet a wide range of people.
