Enjoy a walk around the Cooktown Botanic Gardens. It's a lovely space for a social gathering and meeting with friends in a relaxed tropical beautiful area.
These gardens house species of plants used by the local Aboriginal people. There are many rare or threatened species of plants. The gardens also have a palmetum featuring tropical palms, a rainforest garden, a bush tucker garden, a health garden, and a water lily pond.
It's a great place to do some birdwatching as there are more than 200 bird species in the garden.
You can also visit nature's powerhouse art gallery and enjoy the café for a social chat and a cuppa.
