Department for Environment SA
If you enjoy the outdoors and care about your local environment, try volunteering. You can work in many interesting roles all year-round across the state to help manage Botanic Gardens, National Parks, and Reserves.
Whether you want to spend a day volunteering your time or want to commit to long-term projects, there are plenty of ways to get involved. If you are keen to help to conserve Port River dolphins you could help at the Adelaide Dolphin Sanctuary.
If you’re a history buff and enjoy people try the Adelaide Gaol, or for gardeners there’s work at the Botanic Gardens. Or you can volunteer to work with various walking trails, wildlife parks, and as a volunteer Ranger.
It’s a wonderful way to stay active and involved and keep learning new things. You’ll enjoy giving back to the community and meeting like-minded people.
