If you have some spare time and want to stay active, consider volunteering with the Friends of Franklin Forest. You'll get involved in conservation of the local area and meet like-minded people along the way. You can help the group to maintain walking tracks and hold guided walks. You'll manage gorse and blackberry infestations within the historic mill area. You can also assist them to write letters to the paper, politicians, and the council.
