If you have some spare time and would like to give back to your local community, try volunteering at the library.

You could help in a range of interesting roles, depending on the library’s needs, your time, and your skills. If you’re passionate about local history or genealogy, you can volunteer at the Heritage Centre. You may help with arranging, transcribing, indexing, and digitising public and private records. 

Or you can work in the Home Library Service. You’ll provide essential library services to people who are unable to visit the libraries due to illness, injury and frailty. 

It’s a wonderful way to keep active and involved and meet people in your area.
