If you like the company of older people and would like to give some time back to your community, join the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme.

You’ll improve the quality of life for older people in your area and brighten someone’s day. As a volunteer visitor, you’ll regularly visit someone in aged care who may be lonely or feeling isolated and enjoy a cuppa, a chat, a game, or a gentle walk together.

You can support activities such as reading, letter writing, or arts and crafts. You could support staff with residents at mealtimes or in their personal care. Or you can help residents with gentle exercise programs or work in admin.

It’s a wonderful way to keep active and connected and you’ll make new friends while you volunteer.
