Volunteering is a great way to become involved in your local area, learn new things, and make new friends.
Regardless of your skills and experience, there's always an opportunity to make a positive difference to your life, and the lives of others. Your local council has a range of volunteering opportunities on offer in various sectors of the community.
You can help with arts and culture with festivals, exhibitions, theatre and art events, and promotions. You could also help with community volunteering where you may visit someone who feels isolated or lonely. You'll brighten their day with a cuppa and a chat.
You could help working in the library, at community events, and more. Or if you are interested in your natural environment, join the biodiversity project. You’ll enjoy working outdoors with a team of like-minded people. You can help at community nurseries, collect data on a range of animal species, and collect native seeds in the bush.
There are plenty of ways to stay active and get involved.
