If you're interested in the rich history of the area, join the Historical Society. You can help to run and maintain the museum and its archives. Most societies need help with maintaining or restoring buildings or collections of objects. You can often help with queries from the public, cataloguing, research, displays of artefacts, or records. It's a great way to stay active and busy and meet people. The Historical Society membership cost is $25 a year for a single membership.
