Mid Coast Outreach works to relieve poverty and distress in rural and regional communities. It ensures that clients and their families feel supported by the community around them. If you want to get involved in your community and make a difference in people’s lives, try volunteering for the outreach centre. You could work in one of their op shops which raise much-needed funds. Some of the roles you can do are customer service, window dressing, and sorting through and pricing stock. Or you can help with collecting and delivering furniture or ironing clothes. The outreach is always looking for new volunteers who can spare at least a couple of hours a week. It’s a wonderful way to stay active, share your life skills, and meet different people.
