The Mission to Seafarers is a welcoming place in ports where seafarers can relax and seek help or support if needed. The Townsville mission operates a canteen and recreation area at the port seven days and nights a week. If you have skills to share, some time to spare, and a passion for the welfare of others, try volunteering at the mission. You can be a friendly face and enjoy mixing with port personnel and overseas crews. If you like to drive, you can help by driving visitors to various tourist destinations, shopping centres, and events in Townsville. Or you can work in the shop, or as a handyman/cleaner/gardener. It’s a wonderful way to keep busy, stay involved, and meet plenty of people.
