If you're interested in the history of the region or ancestry, join the local historical society. It's a volunteer non-profit group and joining is a wonderful way to stay active, keep learning, and meet people. The group supports family and local history. They provide guest speakers and ru n cemetery tours or talks for groups. You can help with local and family history research and join in local and family history events. Visitors are always welcome to attend any of the group's meetings. There is no need to book, just go along. The guest speakers present their talks first, then you'll break for a coffee and a biscuit. It's an opportunity to talk to the guest speaker and learn. Join them on Tuesday and Saturday from 11am to 2pm at the Lorraine Taylor Research Room, 110 High Street, Berwick. As meeting details can change, check with the society before attending.
