Newtown Neighbourhood Centre Multicultural

Your local centre provides multicultural social support. They aim to help you to continue to live safely and independently at home. There are weekly activities to join for Greek, Portuguese, and people from former Yugoslavia. Activities also include a Seniors' Social Support Group. There are communal lunches and recreational outings. Enjoy meeting to socialise and join information sessions. You can enjoy playing games, knitting, morning tea, and light lunch. There are books, audio books, videos, and DVDs in many languages to borrow. Monthly outings are organised to take older people to various places. These can be visits to parks for a barbeque, sightseeing, museums, galleries, and flower festivals. You can also join the free English and Literacy classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10.30am to 12pm.
