If you have some spare time, try volunteering at Oz Harvest near you. Oz Harvest is a leading food rescue organisation in Australia. Their mission is to ‘Nourish our Country.' They stop good food from going to waste and deliver it to charities that help feed people in need. You could help in their kitchens, join the drivers with food rescue, or assist with community events. Most of the volunteering opportunities are at either their Alexandria warehouse or kitchen. Also at their Waterloo Market, or Refettorio cafe in Surry Hills. Shifts are generally Monday to Friday during business hours. There are also limited regular weekend shifts and occasional out-of-hours shifts at community festivals and events.
