Penrith OWN

Penrith OWN
The Penrith group of the Older Women’s Network NSW (OWN NSW) is a welcoming and friendly community for older women who want to stay active, connected and heard. The group has been meeting for many years and offers a mix of social, physical and wellbeing activities that support healthy ageing. Members meet monthly for a committee meeting followed by a social activity at the Penrith Senior Citizens Centre. During the week, many also enjoy aqua aerobics together at the local hydrotherapy pool.
Being part of this group supports healthy ageing in many ways. Gentle exercise like aqua aerobics helps improve strength, balance and mobility. Social activities and shared experiences reduce loneliness and help build strong friendships. The group also supports mental and emotional wellbeing by giving women a safe space to share ideas, learn from guest speakers and stay involved in their local community.
The Penrith OWN group is about friendship, support and staying engaged in life as you age, while also standing up for the rights and wellbeing of older women.
