If you’re interested in the night sky, or astronomy, and want to share your passion, try volunteering at the Observatory. You can help with star viewing nights or primary school day tours and outreach projects. You can also help with heritage curation and documentation, in customer service, greeting customers, and in the shop. The centre recruits new volunteers twice a year in approximately February and August. It’s a wonderful way to share your skills, learn new things, and keep active and involved. You’ll enjoy meeting like-minded people and making new friends while you work. Apply online via the website provided. You just need to commit to two nights/days a month plus a monthly training meeting, and you will need your own transport.
