If you enjoy caring for older people, try volunteering for St Vincent’s. You can make a positive difference to people in aged care, home care, or retirement living. There are so many areas to help in such as regularly visiting residents who may be lonely or isolated for a chat and a cuppa. You can help with recreational activities such as playing board games or cards with residents. You can even bring your pet for animal therapy sessions. There is always admin and gardening to do, or you could serve coffee, join music therapy concerts, sing-alongs and dancing, and run art therapy and classes. You’ll enrich the lives of others while meeting new people, building friendships, and having fun along the way.
