Stella Maris is an international organisation with centres worldwide. The centre aims to make seafarers feel welcome when they are far from home. If you have some spare time and would like to help, try volunteering for the centre. You can become a ship visitor, or welcome seafarers to the centre and answer the phone. You could help to transport seafarers to and from their ships or assist with shop sales and bar service (RSA required). It’s a great way to give back to the community and become part of a team of friendly, dedicated volunteers. You’ll stay active and busy, and you’ll meet a wide range of people to socialise with.
