Strength For Seniors Series

Strength For Seniors Series
Strength for Seniors is a safe and effective strength‑training program designed especially for older adults who want to stay active, independent, and confident. Held on Wednesday afternoons at Cockburn Libraries, this program uses the well‑known Geri‑Fit method to help rebuild strength that naturally decreases with age.
The exercises focus on improving muscle strength, balance, and mobility—all important for staying steady on your feet and reducing the risk of falls. Stronger muscles also make everyday tasks easier, such as lifting groceries, getting out of a chair, or walking longer distances. Regular strength training supports healthy ageing by boosting bone health, improving joint stability, and helping maintain a healthy weight.
Strength for Seniors also benefits your mental and emotional wellbeing. Exercise is known to improve mood, reduce stress, and keep your mind sharp. Because the sessions are group‑based, they offer a great chance to meet others, enjoy friendly conversation, and feel more connected to your community.
This welcoming class is perfect for beginners and those returning to exercise, offering a supportive environment to build strength and confidence at your own pace.
