Stroke Recovery Association NSW
Stroke Recovery Groups operate in local communities across NSW under the Stroke Recovery Association NSW. If you have been affected in some way by a Stroke, consider volunteering to help at one of the groups. As a volunteer, you will work with people who have had a Stroke with varying degrees of disability and communication levels. You can help to run the meetings, games, and activities or the setup of tables and chairs. You will provide emotional support and friendship to members. You could assist people from a bus/car into the venue, make tea/coffee, and help with food preparation. It's a wonderful way for you to keep active and stay involved. You’ll be helping people and meeting like-minded volunteers and members to socialise. Contact the association to find out more about volunteering at a group near you.
