Switchboard Out and About Program
Check the organiser's website for pricing information.
Out and About is a free program for older lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or intersex (LGBTI) people. The program helps to reduce social isolation and loneliness through creating peer friendships and community connections. Their experienced staff match you with volunteers based on shared interests and hobbies. You will get support to stay engaged and connected sharing time with a volunteer. You’ll enjoy regular catch ups for enjoyable activities or hobbies. It can be just chatting over the phone, having coffee or tea at home, or in a cafe, going for walks, seeing films, attending LGBTI community events, and much more. Or if you have some extra time, you could volunteer to be a visitor for the program. It’s a great way to stay active, help people, and socialise.
