Tai Chi – For Health

Tai Chi – For Health
The City of Gosnells’ Tai Chi program offers a gentle and calming way for older adults to stay healthy and active. Often called “meditation in motion,” Tai Chi uses slow, controlled movements that help improve strength, balance, and flexibility. These benefits are especially important for preventing falls and staying steady on your feet as you age.
Because Tai Chi is low‑impact, it’s suitable for people with different fitness levels and abilities. The slow pace makes it easier on your joints while still giving your muscles a good workout. It also supports mental and emotional wellbeing by encouraging relaxation, deep breathing, and focused movement, which can help reduce stress and improve mood.
Tai Chi can also boost cognitive health by helping you stay mentally engaged as you learn and remember each sequence of movements. Many participants enjoy the social side of the classes too—joining a group can help you feel more connected and supported in your community.
This program offers a safe, enjoyable way to strengthen your body, calm your mind, and improve overall wellbeing through gentle movement.
