The Women’s Library Volunteering

If you have some spare time and would like to help other women in your community, try volunteering at the Women’s Library. The library is entirely volunteer-run, and it welcomes enquiries from women who would like to join the team. No special skills are necessary, though everyone needs to help patrons and make visitors feel welcome. As a volunteer, you can help with cleaning, shelving, tidying the collection, and lending and returning books. You might also help with administration, book and film reviews, grant applications, and promotional work. You just need to commit to six months. Once accepted, you’ll work with experienced staff so that you can learn on the job. Shifts are available on a weekly, fortnightly, or monthly basis, during the week and on weekends. It’s a wonderful way to stay active, learn new skills, and meet people in the neighbourhood. Join other volunteers at the library by filling out the online form on the website or drop in to have a chat.
