Your local council supports social groups, including an Italian group to help older Italians to stay active and social. They provide assistance to you in Italian and offer a range of activities. These activities help you maintain your independence and continue being active in the community. You can join social gatherings, meals, information sessions, physical activities, and active learning. It’s a great way to meet other older Italians in the area and socialise. You just need to speak to the friendly staff or volunteers at the Jack Young Centre, Para Hills Centre, Pine Lakes Centre, or Home Assist Office. They will direct you to the Italian program co-ordinator. You may even be eligible for transport.
