University of the Third Age (U3A) is a worldwide voluntary organisation. It promotes learning for personal enjoyment and satisfaction to retired people. U3A caters for older people and offers many classes and activities each week. At the Canning River branch, you can join the Round Table Forum on the second Friday each month to discuss various topics with other members. There is a Current Affairs meeting on the fourth Friday each month. Members discuss various aspects of what is currently in the news. You can also join the regular General Meeting on the first and third Fridays at 2pm. You'll enjoy a guest speaker or other presentation at most meetings. This meeting is held in the St Augustine’s Church Hall, corner of Cale and Park Streets, Como. Joining U3A is a wonderful way to keep active in the community, learn new things, and meet people. Check with your U3A before joining to make sure times, dates, and locations are current.
