If you’re interested in the rich history of WA and have some time to give, join the volunteer team at the museums in WA. You could work at WA Museum Boola Bardip, WA Maritime Museum, WA Shipwrecks Museum, and Museum of the Great Southern. You can work in both front of house and back of house depending on your skills and availability. Front of House volunteer roles include Exhibitions and Public and Education Programs. Or Submarine Guides and Robert Steele Steam Machinery Exhibition Operators (WA Maritime Museum only). Back of House volunteers support the work of the museum’s staff. You may assist with research, cataloguing, labelling, cross checking, and field-work preparation. It’s a fantastic way to learn new things, work among interesting exhibits, and meet like-minded people. You feel a sense of reward, keep active and busy, and make new friends.
